It was a joyous occasion to the community of Metsimaholo Local Municipality and the Province alike, when the two MEC’s, for Public Works, Infrastructure and Human Settlement, Dora Kotzee together with the MEC for Education, Tate Makgoe opened three school projects in one day. These infrastructure projects were completed in good time with the necessary scope and quality assurance as per the client’s needs.
“The investment made by Government especially the FS Government in these infrastructure projects is big and it is therefore “our” collective responsibility as members of the community, parents and learners to guard against any wrong doing or act that seeks to destroy these asserts,” said MEC Kotzee . Also a lot of opportunities were created during the construction phase of these schools, “use that experience to your advantage to support your families and enhance your business experience,” Mme Kotzee added.
Fundamentally, this development not only ensures that we shape the future of country through education, but it is also a pivotal role player in job creation and skills transfer.
Through the construction of the 3 schools the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure has been able to manage and create job opportunities for both local contractors and a massive labour force was recruited into the Projects. “These schools are the pride of the community, a source of optimism and most importantly they are beacons of hope for a brighter future. I call on all of you to protect the investments made on your future,” said MEC Kotzee.
