Committed to address the forever pressing social ills within the Mangaung Metro and Free State alike, His Excellency, President Cyril Ramaphosa instructed that, a Pre-Imbizo Program be formulated and driven by all relevant Senior Managers.
Based on this Instruction a week long Pre-Imbizo Program was devised and led by a select team of Deputy Ministers and MEC’s. The aim of the Pre-Imbizo was to ascertain service delivery issues from the horse’s mouths, whom in this case are members of the community.
MEC Tshidi Koloi responsible for Public Works and infrastructure, was deployed in the Grassland area at Ward 18. MEC Koli was joined in her deployment by Deputy Minister, David Mahlobo responsible for Water and Sanitation.
The Ward 18 deployment was gathered at the Grassland Community Hall, where the Executive Mayor of Mangaung, Mxolisi Siyonzana was also in attendance joined by his MMC’s.
MEC Koloi encouraged community members to feel free and express their concerns during the interaction session.
“We are here to listen to you, to listen to your concerns so that the Government that you have put in place and in power can address and rectify those issues you are putting on the table,” MEC Koloi encouraged community members.
Deputy Minister David Mahlobo, reassured community members that government institutions and buildings are there for them to utilise, and that they belong to them as members of the community.
