
The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure believes in the wellbeing of its employees and is committed to promoting healthy lifestyle practices. Today, 02 December 2025, the Department hosted a vibrant Wellness Day, where employees were encouraged to stay active, eat healthily, and prioritise self-care.
The day featured fun team-building activities that strengthen relationships and promote collaboration across the workplace. The event was also enriched by the presence of several valued stakeholders, including Virgin Active, Old Mutual, Metropolitan, Seeder Invest, Bayport, FillUp, and Dynamo Rehab Services.
A major highlight of the day was the friendly team-building competition between Directorates. Employees cheered each other on as teams battled it out in the activities. After an exciting final round between the Maintenance and Housekeeping Directorate, Housekeeping emerged victorious, showcasing strong teamwork and enthusiasm.
Employees also took part in various sporting codes and indigenous games, adding excitement, fun, and unity to the day’s activities.
The Wellness Day was further enriched by the presence of several stakeholders, including Virgin Active, Old Mutual, Metropolitan, Seeder Invest, Sanlam, Bayport, FillUp, and Dynamo Rehab Services, who engaged employees with wellness information, demos, and interactive activities.
Health officials were also on site, offering free health screenings to encourage early detection, healthy habits, and proactive wellness, fully aligned with the DPSA’s emphasis on holistic employee wellbeing.
The Department remains committed to nurturing a healthier, happier, and more motivated workforce, and today’s Wellness Day reflected exactly that.
