The Free State Department of Public Works & Infrastructure continues to champion youth development and empowerment through impactful programmes under the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP).
Following the 2026/2027 Budget Vote presented by MEC Dibolelo Mance in Welkom, the Department committed to recruiting 35 unemployed young people through the EPWP-NYS Programme.
As part of this commitment, a Security Learnership Programme has been introduced to equip young people with accredited security training and practical workplace experience in public buildings across Mangaung.
Learners are currently gaining hands-on experience under the guidance of Senior Security Officers, preparing them for professional careers in the security industry.
The Department remains committed to building a skilled, empowered, and employable youth workforce for the future.
