Profile of the Acting HOD

Siza Mtolo

Mr Siza Mtolo is a seasoned public sector professional with extensive academic and practical expertise in development policy, political science, and evidence-based policy-making.

He holds a Master of Development Policy and Practice from the University of Cape Town and a Master of Arts in Political Science from the University of the Free State, along with specialized training in African Political Economy and policy implementation.

Mr Mtolo brings a strong background in governance, strategic planning, and public administration, complemented by professional training in project management and executive support. He is currently serving in an acting capacity as Head of Department (HOD) since June 2025, demonstrating trusted leadership, institutional insight, and a commitment to organizational excellence.

Mr Mtolo’s public service experience spans more than two decades, during which he has served in the following positions across various institutions:
